Mary "Polly" Brown

b. 14 February 1837, d. 18 October 1906
Mary Brown, daughter of David Brown and Ann Sweetman, was born on 14 February 1837 at Ottawa, Ontario.1,2

Not long after Mary was born her family moved west of Ottawa to Westmeath Township, Renfrew County, where her father was able to obtain 100 acres of land.

Mary married Thomas White, son of James White and Phoebe Stoner, on 24 January 1856 at Westmeath Township, Renfrew County.3

On 12 January 1872 Mary and Thomas were given land that Mary's father, David Brown, had purchased from Edward Malloch of Ottawa. The property was the N 1/2 lot 15, concession 1 EML, Westmeath Township.4 Mary and Thomas sold that lot later in the year on 8 November 1872.5

Mary died on 18 October 1906 at Westmeath Township, Renfrew County, Ontario, at age 69.2
