Jane White1,2
b. 25 March 1862, d. 22 September 1940
Jane White, daughter of Thomas White and Mary "Polly" Brown, was born on 25 March 1862 at Westmeath Township, Renfrew County, Ontario.3,4
Jane was the fourth of 10 children growing up on her parents' farm. She went to school and learned to read and write and was likely kept very busy helping out on the farm.
Jane married Magnus Alfred Wulff, son of Hans Henrik Wulff and Rasmine Marie Pedersdatter, on 19 November 1887 at Pembroke, Ontario.5
Shortly after Alfred and Jane's son, Thomas Alfred, was born the family moved back towards Ottawa, settling in Janeville. Janeville is now part of the Vanier suburb of Ottawa. Alfred worked as a butcher for Alphonse Courcelle who had shops at 85 Queen St. West and 8 Wellington Ward Market.6
Alfred died some time between 1895 and 1897. It appears that Jane moved back to Westmeath with her children and then moved to Markstay, near Sudbury. Sudbury was a booming mining town at the time, so it is likely that Jane made that move to find employment.
Jane married James Jackson on 9 August 1897 at the White House, Sudbury, Ontario.7,8
Jane died on 22 September 1940 at Westmeath Township, Renfrew County, Ontario, at age 78.9
