Ellen Smith

Ellen Smith was born in 1823 at Ireland.1

Ellen left Ireland and came to Canada settling in Ottawa, Ontario. Ottawa was called Bytown at the time.

Ellen married Michael Butler, son of Michael Butler and Elizabeth Menoyne, on 6 February 1844 at Basilique Cathedral Notre-Dame, Ottawa, Ontario.2

Michael, Ellen and thier infant daughter Mary Anne left Ottawa likely in 1845 and moved west to Ile des Allumette, Quebec.

Ellen died on 12 April 1885 at Ile des Allumettes, Quebec,3 and was buried on 13 April 1885 at Chapeau cemetery.3
