Vera Alice Heyes

Vera Alice Heyes, daughter of Joseph Heyes and Alice Maud Domville, was born on 24 March 1917 at Great Sankey, Lancashire, England, and baptized on 6 May 1917 at St. Mary church, Great Sankey.1

When Vera was 6 years old she and her parents and siblings moved to Canada and settled in St. Catharines, Ontario. Her uncle Peter Heyes had already moved there a few years earlier. The family sailed on the S.S. Montcalm, leaving from Liverpool on 2 November 1923, and arriving in Quebec a few days later. They likely took a train from Quebec to St. Catharines.2,3

Vera married Lorne J. Nichol circa 1952.

Vera died on 22 February 2002 at Orillia, Ontario, at age 84.
