Hryhory Kostaszczuk was born circa 1833 at Budilow, Ukraine.2

Hryhory began military service on 8 March 1853 at Kolomea, Ukraine. Military service was mandatory in the Austro-Hungarian empire. Hryhory most likely served in Infanterie Regiment 24. Age at induction was typically between 20 and 29 years.3,4,2

Hryhory married Anastasia Molofiy circa 1860 at Ukraine.5

Hryhory likely ended his military service circa 1861 at Ukraine. Between 1845 and 1868 military service obligation was eight years.2
